Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) is an approach that focuses on what IS WORKING or CAN WORK given the current situation/circumstances. Often times it is expected that going to therapy will involve focusing on what's wrong, either with the person or with life. Actually, utilizing SFT allows for the acknowledgement of what is going on without categorizing it as "right" or "wrong", and instead focuses on what is needed in order to have life "work".

Taking judgment out of it allows for the individual to look at the issue in an objective way. This approach Empowers the person to look for ways to have the problem/stressor work out positively. This approach, coupled with learning to express challenging emotions in healthy ways, leads to exciting results.
