Me at the Office.jpg

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, as well as a Board-Certified and Registered Art Therapist.

Doing counseling and art therapy are my passions. In 2013, I went in to private practice as a therapist, creating an LLC. The company name is Creativity Matters: Art and Therapy, LLC (on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/deborahr.davis.108 ).

After going to Kansas State University for my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and Leadership Studies, as well as getting two master's degrees (one in Art Therapy and the other in Mental Health Counseling at Emporia State University), I got my clinical experience through working at two different Community Mental Health Centers and two separate Emergency Rooms (one at a prominent, and rather busy, hospital 38-room ER in the Kansas City area). I have also taught college classes at two different colleges as well as two different universities as an Adjunct Professor. Now, I am fulfilling my life-long dream of being in private practice.

I am licensed in two different states: Kansas and Alaska. After spending 8 years providing counseling services in Kodiak, Alaska, I moved back to Kansas and have retained my license in Alaska in order to continue to assist with the need for mental health services in that area. There have also been requests for my services from those here in Kansas, thus having licenses in both states.

Currently, I am seeing clients via TeleHealth Services. Insurances are now covering such approaches to therapy due to the COVID-19 issues. I see clients mostly through Zoom, but can also utilize FaceTime and talking on the phone.
