Where Art and Therapy Come Together
Mental Health Counseling
DIFFERENT THERAPEUTIC OPTIONS
There are a number of documentaries that explain many of the concepts I utilize with my clients. Many scientific findings are being utilized to empower each person with the skills needed to thrive in life.
One of the services that I'm excited to introduce is Equine Therapy. There is a new Not-For-Profit organization that is getting developed here in Kansas. This exciting new therapy is making a HUGE difference in people's lives!
Doing mental health counseling 1:1 is the most common form of therapy offered. This happens in a safe and confidential environment, where the surroundings are quiet and relaxed. It is taken at the pace of the client. By appointment only.
Children and Family Therapy
Working with children and families has been a large part of my practice. My approach is unique: I spend half of my time with the child and the other half with the primary caregivers. This makes sure that the skills I'm working on with the child are also utilized at home.
ART THERAPY BLOGS & ORGANIZATIONS
There are several Art Therapy Blogs to check out and enjoy. Many therapists have shared their experiences and thoughts on their philosphies and approaches.
More and more organizations are popping up around the world that share in the passion of promoting and exploring applications of art therapy.
Each company has an Employee Assistance Program available. This can consist of individual counseling sessions, as well as group therapy sessions in the company after a traumatic event. Both options are available through Creativity Matters.
When doing couples counseling, the relationship goes from struggling, often ready to end, to having the couple turn things around and end up happier than they've ever been. This is often the outcome. Utilizing very specific skills allows for this to occur.
